Who Are You Again?

It's been a funny old year so far both in the book writing world and in the 'real world'. There have been some incredible highs and, as always, some incredible lows. From being ringside at WWE RAW to losing my job, it always makes me stop and think how funny it is that life can be so changeable. One day things can be bloody brilliant, full of smiles and laughter and the next you could be ready to burst into tears and disappear for the rest of forever.

One thing that I've been thinking about a lot, especially of late, is in and around the idea of stalking. It's something I've spoken about here and there as it's something I've been through before and it's never fun. There are levels to it, to the point where you can be so afraid to step out of your front door or switch on your computer in fear of what disturbing emails or social media posts you might find. Recently I've been noticing a bit of a pattern. Well it's more than a pattern. It's something that actually alarmed me quite a lot to start with.

For a period of months notifications for this website on my phone were going insane. These were telling me about visitors to the site. They were all from the same town. And all within minutes of each other. There would be a bit of a break and then it would start again. And the funny thing is that the town where these views were coming from is a place where certain individuals I have not had dealings with in MANY years live. IP addresses matched up too. A whole chunk would be the same. And then another chunk with a different IP. Now I'm aware that IP addresses are unique and you can't pin down an exact person or address from one - they tend to give you a general area.

But you know when you just have that feeling?

Some may call it paranoia. Not me, though. If I am correct - and I'd say I'm 90% sure that I am - then these individuals came to this website to try and find out information on me and to try and find ways of contacting me. Except they stopped short at actually contacting me, probably because they're beyond aware that I wouldn't welcome them back into my life with open arms.

So. If you are who I think you are then please read the below reasons why I want you to just bugger off and leave me be. You'd think the time I said that at the age of 14/15 would have been enough but here we are.

  • I'm alive

  • I'm thriving

  • I did all of this without you. Keep coming back if you want and keep tabs because I'll just do even more. And it will all be done without you and them.

  • If I saw you in the street I would blank you. Because I spent a good 14 or so years of my life living with your toxicity. Your toxicity isn't welcomed.

  • If you want to keep tabs then at least buy a copy of my books. That way you'll be reminded that the girl you and yours treated so poorly for so long is more successful than you will ever be.

  • I want nothing to do with you and will speak no more on this. Just leave me alone.

Now then. In other news.

I've been a bit slow off the mark in getting the heavy metal book started properly. That's my bad. Life got a bit on top of me for a while especially in the last few months with losing my job, burnout from the diabetes and just good ole fashioned writer's block. So the word processing software hasn't been opened until tonight - I've actually sat down and fully transcribed my interview with Lena Scissorhands of Infected Rain, and will be working on the interview with David Ellefson of Kings of Thrash/Megadeth over the next few days and weeks. I'll also be jumping back in to writing the bloody book - I left off part way through a chapter on women in heavy metal so the aim is to get that finished before cracking on with a chapter on the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. This book is going to be a lot of work. But heavy metal is one of my passions so it'll be worth it.

'The History of Silent Hill' is now fully complete and available to pre-order from White Owl/Pen & Sword as well as Waterstones. This is a history of an incredible franchise in the survival horror genre and something which I am lovingly calling a 'glorified town guide'. In it I go into each of the mainline games (from characters, to plot, to monsters) right up until the 2024 'Silent Hill 2 Remake'. Unfortunately the latest instalment in the franchise, 'Silent Hill: f' was released a few months after the manuscript had been finished and submitted.

I got to meet Liv Morgan, Dom Mysterio and Raquel Rodriguez of WWE's 'Judgment Day' faction. It was awesome. Have a picture.

I got caught on live TV flipping off Logan Paul too. That was fun. And I'm absolutely not at all sorry for it.
